I take it you are asking for a theory of reference. What are the rules here? - for example, you presmuably will not allow any old theory of reference that satisfies the constraint "an utterance of 'I' refers to the person to whom the utterance is attrubted". It has to be satisfying further constrants, right? Or are you denying that any such theory (satisfying this constraint) is so much as possible?
